Stephen Stonefield has been a Senior Advisor to China Renaissance Partners since 2006. Mr. Stonefield has over thirty years experience in the financial services industry, with twenty five of those in Asia. He has diverse product, client management, and strategic and administrative skills, acquiring or building a number of businesses and working with private sector and government clients to complete capital raising, investment, and other strategic transactions amounting to tens of billions of dollars. Mr. Stonefield currently serves as Executive Chairman of Precise Technologies Ltd. (parent of Precise Asset Management Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based hedge fund manager). He is also a Director of Cross Shore Acquisition Corporation, a SPAC established for acquisition of BPO companies.
From 1996 to 2003, Mr. Stonefield was a member of the Executive Board of Credit Suisse First Boston and Chairman of the Pacific Region; he was also a Vice Chairman of CSFB. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Stonefield was a Managing Director at Smith Barney in New York, where he was head of Equity Capital Markets and Financing Services and a member of the Firm's Steering Committee. From 1984 to 1994, Mr. Stonefield was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley in Tokyo (corporate finance and capital markets) and New York (equity capital markets). He began his career in finance in 1974 at Continental Illinois Ltd.
Mr. Stonefield has also served as a member of the financial services working group of the Singapore government's Economic Review Committee, the Securities Industry Council of Singapore, and as a member of the International Advisory Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now Bursa Malaysia) and is involved in non-profit activities.
Mr. Stonefield graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College and has an M.A. from Harvard University. He is proficient in Chinese (Mandarin) and Japanese.
